Operation
Outreach
Operation
Outreach is a kinetic program focused on the delivery of resources,
financial and otherwise to the Global War on Terror Service Members,
families and Veterans. In addition, the program also assists in
extraordinary issues facing prior Service Veterans.
Staff
works to keep GWOT Service Members, families and Veterans up-to-date
on ever evolving federal, state and local initiatives designed to
make the transition back into communities and the home front as
smooth as possible.
As
a one-stop source of advocacy, the program functions to bring connections
and resources to the families of deployed Service Members as well
as returning Veterans faced with:
|
*
Financial constraints due to deployment |
| *
Transition issues facing the family |
| *
Legal issues as a result of service commitment |
| *
Job retraining due to deployment injury |
*
Education needs for Service Members or family |
*
Advocacy for appropriate medical care for PTSD & undiagnosed
Traumatic Brain Injury |
| *
Filling the gaps between DOD, VA and life!!! |
Since
the beginning of this program in 2004, Operation Outreach has resulted
in the coordination of over $900,000 in financial resources to our
GWOT Service Members, Veterans and their families. The program has
been successful in coordinating the efforts to keep 21 homes out
of foreclosure, advocating appropriate medical care for PTSD and
undiagnosed Traumatic Brain Injury and continues to work to assist
our financially strapped and injured Veterans – Guard and
Reserve and our Injured Regular Active Duty and their families.
